The Shed

The purchase of Arrow Woods included five storage sheds. All have doors at both ends, and a wall in the middle, so they can each be used by two families.

One of the women in the park came to Jim and told him she wanted a shed. Of course, the park does not have to provide these sheds to anyone, but most were already in use. There was one shed that was full of junk, on a lot where nobody lived. It needed some work.

Jim told the woman she was welcome to move that shed to her lot, if she wanted to trash it out and fix the outside. (All these sheds have skids on the bottom, which enables them to be moved either over the grass or on the road with no damage to either the shed or the property.) The next thing he knew, there was a furor in the park!

Instead of taking the shed Jim told her she could take, the woman had had someone move a shed that was being used by another tenant - complete with the other man's lawnmower. She informed Jim that she did not want the shed he told her she could take, and assumed the other guy would take it. Jim told her the shed had to be moved back to the spot where she got it.

It was fairly obvious that this was not going to happen, so on Monday Jim hooked on the shed with his truck and moved it back to the original spot. It was imperative to start this manager/tenant relationship with them knowing that he meant what he said. She had obviously crossed the line, and all needed to know that there definitely was a line. Taking a shed other than the one she was told she could take was not going to stand.

Shed Wars!
LOL...I've heard of turf wars before, but shed wars is a new one. Life is never dull in a mobile home park.
