Town Meeting Part 2
Monday came and went and no one from the drug unit called or showed up. Tuesday morning the phone rang and thankfully it was an officer from the drug unit calling to make an appointment with me. The meeting was set up and during the meeting I presented all the information I had gathered over the course of the previous months. The officer seemed committed to get to the bottom of our problem and get something done.
She agreed to give me on going updates as to the progress of the case, I on the other hand promised to continue to update her with any new information we were able to gather.
During the course of the next 2 months there were many ups and downs, there were times when I thought based on info I passed on, a bust should happen almost immediately, of course that wasn’t going to be the case at all. Through it all we kept our faith and passed information and updates back and forth.
Although I firmly believe far more can be done in a more timely basis, I am at the mercy of these agencies and the way they operate. One thing that contributed to my frustration was the fact we had an inside source passing us information who was living in the home where the drug deals and related activities were taking place. I thought with this source feeding us information getting the dealer arrested would be a slam dunk, wrong again!
The drug unit continued to do surveillance and gather evidence for the next two months, just as the 3rd month was beginning the drug unit picked him and a female accomplice up as they loaded the drugs they intended to distribute into his car one evening. They were both arrested and are currently in jail.
I can’t end this with out saying how important it is to have good people working with you, my rehab man, Rick Walls who some of you met at the park as you have come to visit and at the MOM meeting was a key in gathering information. As Rick worked on homes in the vicinity of the problem home he would write down license plate numbers, make and model of the cars, descriptions and other information we thought the drug squad could use and pass it on to me so it could be called in. So once again I want to emphasize how important it is to surround yourself with a team of good people.

Re: Town Meeting Part 2
Just finished your whole story. What and inspiration you are to us! As I'm reading this, I'm thinking...either I need to be this manager, or We need an entrepreneur that cares about the park as much as we do. Fred your help has given us options we needed to have. Thanks you for sharing your story.
